Summer Time

Well, England are out of the World Cup and it is the Summer Solstice. Tthe big plus is the weather is gorgeous and just perfect for barbeques, Pimms, strawberries and weddings!!!

I recently worked with Gemma to find her the perfect tiara and we just could not decide which one would be "the one" to go with her dress. In the end, Gemma chose two tiaras Atlantis and Ingrid both by Ivory & Co. as both of these had a bit of height in the centre. On the day, Ingrid was the favourite and complemented her dress and style perfectly. I think I would have had trouble choosing too.

Thanks for sending them on to me with your lovely message Gemma, you are such a lovely lady and you both deserve so much happiness,

Apologies for not posting any news or gossip recently but I have a lovely photo to share with you of one of  my lovely brides, Helen. Helen bought a beautiful Fern tiara by Ivory & Co from me last year and I last heard from her in October whilst she was on her half term holiday. I recently was delighted to receive an email with this lovely photo attached to it which I am so pleased to add. I think she looks beautiful and obviously thoroughly enjoying her wedding day. Thanks Helen, hope you have a long and happy life together. x

London Calling.....

What a busy little weekend we had in London at the White Gallery, the trade fair for the wedding industry. So good to catch up with our dear friend, designer Polly Edwards and to admire her new collection. Quite a different slant this time around, lots of floral designs but still incorporating the opalescent stones which lots of brides and myself love. Ivory & Co never cease to amaze me, Sarah and Alex have outdone themselves with lots of pearls this year but still leaning towards the side headpieces. I love to see the gold coming back in fashion though. We also had a chat with Steph and Nicola plus dad Vince at Halo & Co and loved seeing the sparkling and eyecatching pieces. Love their combs, they are works of art and the tiaras are just divine!

It will be lovely to see all the pieces that we have ordered in a couple of months time.

Coco shines in Vegas

Laura purchased the Coco tiara by Ivory & Co from me in August prior to flying out to get married in Las Vegas. This b2b was so excited and tweeted her happiness when Coco arrived with her and our tweets went back and forth and she told me that she had her eye on this tiara and had been in love with Coco for months and months! Laura promised me some photos from her Las Vegas wedding day once everything had settled down and true to her word, some photos arrived in my inbox this week. Apologies Laura for taking so long to add them to my blog but with Christmas hot on our heels it has been a bit busy at Damselle HQ.

Hope you love them as much as I (and Laura and hubby) do!

Natalie wears Naomi

In July I sold a an Ivory & Co tiara, Naomi, to Natalie and she recently sent me these gorgeous photos from her

wedding day. Doesn't she look lovely? The Naomi perfectly compliments her hair and the style of her dress but I think her baby girl steals the show!

7th September 2013

I apologise for the length of time away from my blog.

Summer is in its final throes now and the wedding fair season approaches.

Damselle Tiaras will be exhibiting at the Victoria Hall Wedding Fair in Keighley on Sunday 8th September 11 – 3. There will be refreshments available and the bar will be open which may be a ploy so that the ladies can spend time with exhibitors like me and can try tiaras on knowing that their other half is not seeing what she may decide to wear on their wedding day!

I wanted to share some stunning images with you that have just been sent in to me by Louise who got married recently on 22nd August.

Louise is a textile designer and knew exactly what she wanted. She had an image in her mind for the whole look and sought something a little bit quirky but by the same token a statement piece that would be visually stunning. Louise chose Bird of Paradise by Louis Mariette.

Louise told me

“I just love it. I had searched high and low for it, it's for my wedding. I am a textile designer so my mum has made my dress and I have embellished flowers on it, so the bird is perfect to set it off! I like things that are a bit unusual.”

Thanks Louise for the beautiful images and wishing you a long and happy life together and hope you have many more opportunities to wear your Bird of Paradise. x

Looking for a stunning headpiece/vine for your wedding day then take a look at this piece by Julia on BridesupNorth http://bridesupnorth.com/?s=damselle

27 March 2013

We are getting so many hits for Polly Edwards headpieces so I thought that I would share something with you. I was chatting to Tracey today at Polly Edwards and she told me that there have been some big changes happening at PEHQ, one of the changes being that they are no longer going to be using mannequin heads for their images but real models with hair that has been beautifully styled and faces that have been beautifully made up, posing in the most elegantly languorous poses. I think these images which are from the website of Juliet McKee are truly stunning, what do you think?........

I was delighted when Polly Edwards commissioned me to shoot her exciting 2014 bridal headdress and tiara collection at Bijou Venue’s Botleys Mansion. Recognised worldwide, Polly creates elegant and stylish handcrafted pieces for the discerning bride. Her latest collection offers brides show stopping pieces with a real wow factor!

With a trusted team; Make up artist Carolanne Armstrong, bridal hairstylist Sharon Roberts, ridiculously beautiful model (and in my dreams very own muse) Jade,  we gathered at this amazing Surrey wedding venue.

Polly and I worked together before the shoot to plan the look we wanted to achieve. Polly shared some favourite Vogue cover images with me and from there I built a Pinterest board which I named ‘Heavenly’. We liked the idea of getting an ethereal feel to the shoot, and a diverse set of bridal looks within the theme to show Polly’s fabulous collection off to all 2014 brides! Polly loved the idea of using a huge piece of tulle to create the look, and we had lots of fun using it in different ways. We also had an amazing frock by British wedding dress designer Sassi Holdford, which complemented Sharon’s ‘big hair’ look perfectly.

The weather outside was cold and rainy and we even had thunder and lightening, but we were made to feel very welcome by Bijou venue’s Victoria, and this 18th century Palladian mansion’s huge windows and spacious proportions made for the perfect setting to create something rather beautiful.
